GENERAL INFORMATION

Elements of an arm of a nave, nave and the bearing, nave of a back wheel (model with drum-type brakes)

1. Sensor of speed of rotation of a wheel of AVS system
2. Arm of a nave of a back wheel
3. Sealing ring
4. Nave of a back wheel
5. Brake drum
6. Nave bolt
7. Models without AVS
8. Bearing
9. Nave of a back wheel
10. Guard of a back brake
11. Brake hose
12. Clip

Prevention

The dust formed as a result of wear of brake shoes, contains the asbestos which is hazardous to health. It is forbidden to use solvents on the basis of gasoline for cleaning of the mechanism of brakes. Use only a special cleaner for the mechanism of brakes.

In view of need of use of the special equipment and tools for bearing replacement, independently it is not recommended to assort a nave and the bearing. You can independently remove a nave with the bearing and send them to a repair truck for bearing replacement.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off nuts of fastening of a wheel, lift the car and становите it on support. Remove a wheel.
2. Remove a brake drum from a nave (on models with back drum-type brakes) (see subsection 9.8) or remove a brake disk (see subsection 9.7) and a brake support (on models with back disk brakes) (see subsection 9.6).
3. Turn off four bolts of fastening of a nave to a nave arm access to which can be received through a big opening in a nave, rotating a nave flange (turn a flange and combine a big opening on a flange with each of bolts in turn).
4. Remove a nave together with the bearing, having got them via the mechanism of brakes.
5. On models on which there is no system of anti-blocking of brakes, the nave of a back wheel can be removed from the bearing for its replacement. In view of need of use of special tools for performance of this operation, it is necessary to give a nave and the bearing to a repair truck to squeeze out the old bearing from a nave and to establish new (you can use an old nave, while it in a good condition). Check, that the fixing nut of a nave was tightened till the demanded moment of an inhaling (see subsection 10.1). On models with system of anti-blocking of brakes, it is necessary to replace a nave and the bearing together.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn off nuts of fastening of a wheel, lift the car and становите it on support. Remove a wheel.
2. Oil a new sealing ring and establish it on an external circle of an acting rim on a guard of a back brake.
3. Do not lower a sealing ring down on a rim to the guard – when you will establish a nave and the bearing, the sealing ring will get to the flute on an internal surface of the central opening of a nave at a twisting of fixing bolts.
4. Establish a nave and the bearing on an arm of a nave and combine openings in a nave with openings on a guard of a back brake. Insert bolts. For installation of bolts in openings it is possible to use a magnet. After installation of all four bolts, tighten them till the demanded moment of an inhaling specified in the section of technical characteristics at the beginning of this chapter.
5. Establish a brake drum or a brake disk and a support, then establish a wheel. Lower the car on the earth and tighten nuts of fastening of a wheel till an inhaling, specified in the section of technical characteristics in the corresponding chapter.
